Check out our list of cheap hotels near Disneyland. These have been hand-selected to be within walking distance to Disneyland and to have reasonable rates. I know I don’t want to spend a lot of money on an expensive hotel. The tickets to get into to Disneyland are expensive enough. I think there might be others like you, that are looking for Cheap Hotels Near Disneyland too.
Our favorite one that we love to stay in is the Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites. They keep their prices down by not advertising on the big travel sites and by staying very basic. It’s not fancy, it’s old and their breakfast isn’t very good, but they don’t have to be fancy because they are the closest hotel to Disneyland. We love their low prices and options for large rooms. I like that it’s close enough I can walk back to the hotel and take a nap (or my kids can take a nap) and then go back without wasting a lot of time.
I purposely chose hotels within walking distance to the front gates, because taking a shuttle is a huge pain and driving and parking there and waiting for the train to take you to the entrance is an even bigger pain, especially if you have a stroller and the stroller cars are crowded and full and they won’t let you on the cars that aren’t busy.
With Disney-branded hotels starting at $269 and going up to double that easily, it makes these hotels even more appealing. Yes, most of them are older and not fancy, but you really are going to spend so little time in your room. Plus, location is everything and many of these hotels are closer to the Disneyland main gate than some of the Disney hotels.
I tried to put an estimate of the walking distance from the front gate. Even though many of these are across the block from Disneyland, it takes about 5 minutes to walk from the street to the front gates, so 5 minutes is as close as you can get to the gates. The front gates for Disneyland and California Adventures are across the promenade from each other, so it’s about the same distance to either park.
